  • 2019-2020 Visitors Guide Released

    2019 Carbon County Visitors Guide

    The new guide to everything travel related in Carbon County, Wyoming is now available for download or in a printed version. 

    The Carbon County Visitors' Council released the new guide in May.  This years' guide features a new cover photo taken on the Medicine Bow Peak trail and features information on each community within the county including Rawlins, Saratoga, Encampment, Riverside, Medicine Bow, Hanna, Elk Mountain, Baggs, Dixon, Savery, and Sinclair.

    As tourism season picks up, the Carbon County Visitors’ Council (CCVC) is excited to announce the arrival of the new guides which are currently available for pickup at the Carbon County Visitors Council office in Rawlins and at various businesses throughout the county.     Governor Matt Mead will be in Saratoga for National Travel & Tourism week

    Local Industry Gathers to Endorse the Economic Impact of Travel and Tourism

    Here in Carbon County, the travel, tourism and hospitality industry is celebrating the power of travel as part of National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW), slated for May 6 - 12, 2018.

    Held annually in May, NTTW unites states, communities and businesses across the country to champion the impact of travel and what it means to American jobs and economic growth. In Wyoming, tourism is the state’s second-largest industry and is a major economic driver as travelers spent more than $3.5 billion in the state in 2017. Carbon County is kicking off NTTW on Monday, May 7th to highlight the importance of the industry on a local level with Governor Matt Mead honoring us as a guest server at Lollypops in Saratoga from 1:30-2:15PM.  Be sure to stop by, join in the fun, have a scoop or two of ice cream, and talk tourism with our Governor.

    Once again the Carbon County Visitors Council is giving you the chance to shine by submitting your best photo taken in Carbon County into our bi-annual photo contest for the chance to win up to $150 in cash! We have awarded cash prizes to over 40 talented winners over the years and you could be our next winner.

    Hunting season has begun and the Carbon County Visitors’ Council is excited to launch the Carbon County Recreation and Trail Maps. CCVC partnered with Great Outdoor Consultants to create recreation and trail maps that are inclusive of all Carbon County outdoor resources.

  • Carbon County Visitor Journey A2D

    A2D Learning Center - Tools for Travel and Tourism Industry

    Carbon County—Carbon County Visitors’ Council proudly relaunches the Carbon County WY – Visitor Journey A2D Learning Center. CCVC has partnered with Visitor Engagement Academy to produce a training tool.

    “This summer we have seen that travel and tourism is resilient and has returned to Carbon County.” said Leslie Jefferson, CEO, CCVC. “With the Summer Season coming to an end, we are relaunching our Visitor Journey A2D (Arrival to Departure). The course is 100% free to residents of Carbon County.”

    The Carbon County WY – Visitor Journey A2D is a combination of online learning along with a live class that ties the training together. The time required to complete the course is roughly two (2) hours of online learning, broken into 15-20 minute segments, and a 60 to 75-minute live class.“

    Join us as we celebrate the travel, tourism and hospitality industry as part of National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW), held the week of May 3 - 9, 2020.

    During NTTW we will honor the spirit of travel in recognition of the industry’s strength, selflessness and resiliency.

    Although we cannot meet in person right now, we can stay connected, unified and supportive of each other, rallying around the #SpiritOfTravel. In times of uncertainty, the spirit of travel brings joy and hope to millions. The theme for National Travel and Tourism Week this year is the “Spirit of Travel”. The Spirit of Travel is meant to spotlight the people and places that make up America’s travel industry.

Brush Creek Ranch is famous for their 30,000 acre ranch experience loved by celebrities and awarded the Conde Nast Travel Top USA Resort 8 years in a row. In 2021 it was also awarded Travel & Leisure World's Best Award and the Conde Nast Travel Reader Choice Award.

    Brush Creek Ranch has a new feather in it's hat with the roll out of its just released Railroad Rye Whiskey.

    Carbon County Visitors’ Council (CCVC) conducts two photo contests per year. The 2018 Spring Photo Contest was launched mid-January and all entries were due by May 31st. On July 18th, the CCVC Board of Directors judged a total of 29 photo entries.

  • Saratoga Skijoring Races: An Action Packed Weekend of Winter Fun

    Saratoga Skijoring Races

    One of Saratoga's most exciting annual events combines ski & horse racing.

    The Saratoga Lions Club and Platte Valley Jaycees are host annual Skijoring Races on every February at Buck Springs Race Track in Saratoga, WY. There is typically around 90 races per day with prize money totaling around $10,000 thanks to a matching grant from the Carbon County Visitors Council.
